Context is key to on-line ad hits

With internet set to become an important medium for advertising and more corporates get into online advertising, identifying the context and providing specific search result becomes imperative.



Providing customised search advertising in the financial is the search marketing firm, Communicate2. Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is currently $10 crore market, forecast to reach $14 crore soon. Predictions are that internet advertising market will touch Rs 450 crore by 2007 and reach Rs 2,250 crore by end of 2009.
“Online medium is going to be effective and powerful medium as it provides greater Return On Investment (ROI),” said Communicate2 Managing Director Vivek Bhargava speaking to Deccan Herald.

Staff strength

Communicate2 expects 400 to 500 per cent year-on-year growth in its business and currently its employee strength is 125 people. It is presently focussed on financial vertical with ICICI, Standard Chartered, Apnaloan.com, Moneycontrol etc as client base.

Mr Bhargava said, “we will look at travel vertical next for which we have tied up with Kingfisher for a start.” The company also plans to foray into hospitality industry — hotels, tour operators for search engine marketing.
