A labourer committed suicide by hanging at his Mico Layout residence on Thursday. The deceased, Shivaraj (29), a resident of JD Mara, had come to Bangalore from Tamil Nadu in search of some a job last year.
He took this step as he was suffering a severe stomach ailment, the police said.
Gangadhar (40), a resident of Adugondanahalli, committed suicide by jumping off the Ring-road bridge in Nandini Layout on Thursday. Gangadhar, an auto driver, was upset as he could not get a job after his owner sacked him, police said.
Chemmaiah (26), a resident of Heggalahalli, committed suicide by hanging at his residence on Thursday. Domestic problems made him take this step, police said.
An unidentified person, aged around 40, committed suicide by coming under a train at Golla Halli Gate near Yeshwanthpur on Thursday.
The body has been kept MS Ramaiah Hospital mortuary. Selvaraju (26), a resident of Geddalahalli, hanged himself to death at his residence on Thursday.
It is not known why he took this step. He was staying alone after deserting his family, KG Halli police said.
Complaint against scribe
Former Rajajinagar MLA N L Narendra Babu has lodged a complaint with Mahalakshmi Layout police against a journalist for allegedly threatening to tarnish his image.
According to sources, Uma Shankar, working in a Kannada weekly used to visit Babu’s house regularly.
Of late, he started threatening Babu. Initially, Babu ignored his warnings, but when Shankar continued his ‘attacks’, Babu approached the police.
