Rajasthan craft
Rajasthan Craft Fair is being organised from 20th to 6th December by the Rajasthan Hasta Kala Samiti at Hemachandra Kalyana Mandap near Ashok Pillar, 2nd block, Jayanagar to promote crafts from Rajasthan and other parts of India. The crafts on display include jewels and bangles from Rajasthan, churidhars from Gujarat, Kondapalli and Ettikoppa toys, Jaipur paintings, Kashmiri woodcraft, Tanjore paintings among other articles. Khadi, bell metal, white metal, black metal and wooden carvings, zari work, terracota vases, sarees and jewellery are also part of the exhibition.
Saree exhibition
Usha Sridar, in house designer from Chennai holding an exhibition cum sale of her latest new year collection of exclusive sarees in silk and cotton at Badami Party Hall, 916, 9th cross,JP Nagar 2nd phase from 20th to 25th Dec'07.Ph-26596076. Creations in rich Kanchi silk,Tussar,Organza,Prashmina silk,Koranadu,Korva rasi silk sarees from down south available in bright and subtle colour combinations.
A variety of hand embroidery like Kutch, Kasuti, cut work, aari , shadow embroidery, block print and outline and thread work in fancy silk sarees are available. Highlight of the show will be antique Kundan work in Wedding silk sarees . Also on display ethinic block print in silk and cotton sarees from Rasipuram and Chettinad with contrast blouses.
Camp for children
The Sant Shri Asaramji Ashram is organising a 5-day camp for children which will teach children yogic techniques to increase memory power, concentration, meditation, pranayam and anger control along with lots of fun filled activites. The camp will be from December 25 to 29 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Sant Shri Asaramji Ashram, No15/B, 17th Main, 26th cross, BSK-2nd Stage, Behind police station.
