The Akhila Karnataka State Government and Aided DEd College Teachers’ and Employees’ Association has petitioned the Governor to implement the pay scales as recommended to them in the fifth pay commission.
In a memorandum to Governor Rameshwar Thakur, the association has alleged that despite NCTE guidelines, the government was paying them on par with high school teachers. Timely release of grants for DEd colleges and filling up of existing vacancies are some of their demands.
