Food and Beverages Major, PepsiCo Chairman and CEO, Indra Nooyi on Saturday said the company’s products were safest of any of the products available in the food chain business.
Responding to a query on pesticide levels in Pepsi’s products, Chennai-born Nooyi said “ The levels in our products are even lower than what has been prescribed as the allowable limit by the European Union for baby food products.”
She said the company plans to triple its beverage business in India in the next five years. “There are huge opportunities in the beverages segment. We are looking at expanding our portfolio of drinks, that will cater to people of all ages,” she said. The company plans to launch a slew of products next year. Nooyi said the company wanted to replicate its citrus cultivation in Punjab in other states.
