Dr H Harish Hande, MD of SELCO Solar Light Private Limited (SELCO), a Bangalore based Solar Service Company, has been named the Social Entrepreneur of the year 2007, India. The Social Entrepreneurs of the year award recognises innovators who use technology to address social needs. The award is given jointly by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Nand and Jeet Khemka Foundation and Schwab Foundation.
