Military athlete commits suicide

An athlete attached to MEG & Centre committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling near his barrack in Banaswadi Police Station limits on Saturday evening.

 M Kumar (21) hailing from Tirumangalam, Tamil Nadu was recruited into the military services.  On Saturday, Kumar was supposed to stand guard as sentry but late in the evening, he went to the storeroom beside the barrack and hanged himself.
Police suspect that there is a love angle to the case, as Kumar has not left a suicide note; he had a girl’s photograph in his possession.
Bag snatched
Two motorcycle-borne miscreants struck in Vivek Nagar Police Station limits and snatched her vanity bag containing Rs 15,000, credit cards, debit cards,  and other valuables on Saturday.
The complainant Priyadarshini has stated that she was travelling with her cousin on a two-wheeler. When they were passing St Philomena's Hospital, two miscreants pushed her and the pillion rider, snatched the vanity bag  and fled.
Crushed to death
A 37-year-old painter was crushed to death inside the L&T Campus on Bellary Road during the wee hours of Sunday.
The deceased, Yogesh, a native of Hassan, had been working for the last two years, painting the JCBs and other heavy-duty equipment.
On Sunday, when some of the newly painted vehicles were heading towards the drying area, Yogesh opened the main door and before he realised it, the door slid back and he got caught between the door and one of the JCBs. Yelahanka police have registered a case against the contractor and driver Justin Kumar.Cyclist run over
Cyclist run over
A cyclist aged around 30-34 years was run over by an unidentified vehicle near a cemetery on Mysore Road in Byatarayanapura traffic police station limits on Saturday night.
Police shifted the body to Victoria Hospital and are trying to trace the whereabouts of the cyclist.
