The native art forms are on the verge of extinction in the country due to globalisation, Regional Deputy Director of  Music and Drama Division of Union Ministry of Information and Publicity H V Krishna Murthy has said.
He was speaking at a function organised by Karnataka Kala Darshini to present the Dr Shivaram Karanth and the G L Bhat awards here on Sunday. Award was conferred upon yakshagana artistes K Govind Bhat and Margoli Govind Sherigar. The H L Bhat Award was presented to Balakrishna Nayak of Brahmavar.
