In this brand new series, Nigella takes viewers on a quick and easy journey through the world of getting healthy, fabulous food on the table quickly. Premiere episodes of Nigella Express will air every Monday at 8:30 pm, starting December 31 and encore the following day at 3:30 pm.
In this 13-episode show, Nigella will cover every real life cooking eventuality from breakfast, lunch and dinner to parties and food on the go. It is the sort of food viewers can cook fast around the clock, any day of the week, to fit whatever amount of time is available. Starting with everyone's everyday nightmare of what to eat for dinner, to getting entire banquets on the table in less than thirty minutes, this is a series that will resonate with everyone struggling with hurried, time-squeezed, modern life.
Nigella Lawson, a writer, mother and great cook, grew up in the United Kingdom. Daughter of former cabinet minister Nigel Lawson and the late Vanessa Salmon, Nigella graduated from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford with a degree in Medieval and Modern Languages.
Married to journalist John Diamond, whom she met in 1986 when they were both writing for The Sunday Times, she has two children — Cosima and Bruno. John died of throat cancer in 2001 and she then married art collector Charles Saatchi in September 2003.
Nigella began by writing a restaurant column for the Spectator before becoming deputy literary editor of the Sunday Times in 1986. She went on to become, among other things, a newspaper reviewer on a Sunday morning TV programme Breakfast With Frost.
She has also co-hosted, books discussion programme Booked, in the late 1990s, and was an occasional television and radio compare.
