Bullet removed from man’s lung after 30 years
Doctors have safely removed a bullet that had been lodged in a Vietnamese man’s lung for nearly three decades, his surgeon said on Monday, reports AP from Hanoi (Vietnam).
Doctors at Thanh Hoa hospital presented the bullet to Vu Van Thanh (50), about two weeks ago.
The 2.5-centimetre AR15 bullet had been stuck in his lung since he was shot while fighting in neighbouring Cambodia in 1978. Thanh Hoa is 160 km south of Hanoi. I have never seen a case like this,” said Dr Nguyen Van Chung, who removed the bullet. “It’s amazing that he didn’t feel pain until recently.”
‘White Britons will be in minority in UK cities’
Sharp increase in immigration combined with higher birth rates among newcomers to UK is set to make white Britons a minority in many towns and cities within 30 years, a study has said, reports PTI from London.
The watershed is expected to be reached first in Leicester, with a large Indian community, where whites will form less than 50 per cent of the population by 2020, followed by Birmingham in 2024, and by Slough and Luton soon afterwards.
