Christmas was celebrated across Kodagu district by the Christian community with all gaiety. Special mass was conducted in all the churches across the district on Monday midnight. The recital of name of Jesus that commenced on Monday evening at St Micheal Church and Shanthi Church was held till Tuesday evening.
The priests of both the churches offered prayers after placing the statue of infant jesus in the cribs.
The churches were embellished beautifully for the festival.
The bakeries in the city too set the mood of the festival by baking some of the sumptuous cakes of different shapes and sizes, to meet the demand. The cakes varied from about half a kg to 20 kgs, adding to the pomp of the festival.
