Rs 60 Cr Shortfall In Current Year
Madras, Dec. 25.
Mr T T Krishnamachari, Union Finance Minister, said here today that there was likely to be a shortfall of Rs 60 crores in the expenditure on Second Plan schemes in the current year.
Mr Krishnamachari said that against an estimated expenditure of Rs 920 crores on Plan schemes, during the current year by the Central as well as State Governments a sum of only Rs 860 crores was expected to be spent by the end of the financial year.
‘Go Out Of Our Country’
New Delhi, Dec. 25.
Mr VK Krishna Menon, Union Defence Minister and leader of the Indian delegation to the UN, said here today that the Kashmir question would be settled only when Pakistan’s forces “go out of our country and the whole of our territory is restored to us.”

Akali Talks To Resume After Jan 5
Hyderabad, Dec. 25.
Punjab Chief Minister Darbara Singh said here today that talks with the Akalis would be reopened after January 5.
He told newsmen that the Akali leaders need not fear arrests as he himself would take them to Delhi for talks with the Prime Minister.
Mr Darbara Singh said the real problem was that the Akalis wanted to gain power through agitation instead of arriving at a solution through negotiations.
