“Puthige Seer Sri Sugunendratheertha Swamiji will be back to the temple town of Udupi on December 28. He would be brought in a grand “pura pravesha” ceremony,” said Sri Puthige Matha Swagatha Samiti General Secretary Prof H Krishna Bhatt in Udupi on Tuesday.
Addressing a news conference, he informed that the seer will be welcomed at Jodukatte with ceremonial rituals and will be escorted in a procession in a decorated vehicle. The procession will comprise of chanting of Veda goshas, ‘kombu kahale’, bajana teams, saxophone, band sets, various flags indicating sanctity of Hinduism, vehicles displaying the pictures of former seers of Putthige Math, variety of colourful umbrellas and so on. The procession will be led by Elephants and a cracker show will be the part of the ceremonial welcome, he added.
A music concert will be organised simultaneously at Madhva Mantap Car Street by singer Supriya Acharya and team, Mr Bhatt informed. It will be followed by a civic felicitation at Madva Mantap. Dharmadhikari Kshetra Dharmasthala Dr Veerendra Heggade will preside over the function. Registrar Manipal Academy of General Education K K Pai will felicitate the future Paryaya Seer on the occasion.
