Chaos, verbal duel Chaos, verbal duel
DH News Service,Chikmagalur:

Chaos and verbal fight marked the district-level JD(S) meeting held on Wednesday to select the candidate for the forthcoming Assembly election.
The meeting was held under the presidentship of District JD(S) President H T Rajendra. There was difference of opinion in the selection of names.
Town President Rajashekar said: “We should not elect candidates who can win 2,000 to 3,000 votes. Instead, ticket should be given to S L Bojegowda. We will be in the party only if Bhojegowda is in the party,” he added. This created chaos in the party. As a result, Mr Bhojegowda himself had to intervene and console the members.
JD(S) General Secretary H H Devaraj said that he has good relation with Mr Bhojegowda. Party workers and some leaders are trying to create division between us. Party is nobody’s property. we should not have any personal rivalry.
He said party workers and leaders should stop speaking that C T Ravi will win the election. There is no opponent to B L Shankar, he added.
There was verbal fight between Rajashekar and Dinesh for allowing Rajashekar’s wife to contest independently in the last urban local body elections.
District President said those who get ticket from JD(S) National President H D Deve Gowda and H D Kumaraswamy will be the official candidate.
There was chaos and confusion when district president questioned M Ashok as to when he will convene JD(S) Youth meeting.
At this juncture, Bharath intervened and sought to know how can Mr Ashok convene a meeting when he has been dismissed from the post by the State President.
Mr Rajendra said that JD(S) minority, backward class, SC/ST wing meeting will be held on January 9 and 10.
