Those who have been booked include actor Ramesh Bhatkar, film director Ravi Naidu, the victim’s uncle and aunt and a Congress politician, assistant police commissioner Ramesh Biwal of Pune said.
Ramesh Bhatkar is well-known face on the Marathi film and theatre scene and also acts in number of television serials.
According to the complaint filed by the victim’s mother, the girl’s uncle and aunt had introduced her to Naidu in March this year. They said that Naidu, who directs Marathi films and has a farm house in Hyderabad, had promised to give her a break in Marathi cinema.
The complaint said Naidu promised to get her a role in a Marathi film and sought sexual favours from her when in the company of the others at his Pune farmhouse in August. However, when she cried for help, she was quickly let out.
The police have registered a case against the accused under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 341, 354, 363, 366 (a), 376, 506(1) and 34.
