A child herself, a 12-year-old girl here, lives not just the nightmare of having been raped, but having to carry the child of her rapist.
The girl's mother filed an FIR on Monday in Kotwali police station alleging that a 20-year-old boy raped her three months ago which lead to her pregnancy. The parents and other family members of the boy have been accused of helping him commit the crime, police said.
The parents of the boy had allegedly threatened the girl not to disclose the matter to anyone. The matter came to light only after the girl was found to have become pregnant.
The victim, from Sujru village, had earlier brought the matter before the panchayat which directed the boy to marry her.
Although the boy and his parents initially agreed, they later refused. Police are looking for the accused and his parents, who are absconding.
