Powered by Vijay Karthik’s 31-ball 55 Malleswaram Gymkhana scored an 18-run win over Bangalore Cricketers to claim Jawahars’ Twenty20 tournament for the Impressions Cup here on Tuesday night.
Karthik’s knock came with the help of four hits to the fence and four over it. Mithun Beerala (20), Sunil Kumar Jain (23), Cheluvaraj V (23) and Raju Bhatkal (23 n.o) chipped in with crucial knocks as Gymkhana, electing to bat first, put on 179 for seven in 20 overs. Samarth Hegde (3/29) was the most successful bowler for Bangalore Cricketers.
Led by Habib (43, 6x4, 1x6), Gautham K (38, 17b, 3x6, 3x4) and Rakshan Rai (36, 6x4, 16), Bangalore Cricketers, in reply, managed 161 all out in 18.5 overs.
