Last date extended
The Directorate of Correspondence Courses, Bangalore University has extended the last date for admission to academic programme for 2007-08. The last date for the admission is December 31 (without fine) and January 15 (with a fine of Rs 100).
BU colleges to open on Jan 23
The reopening date of the colleges affiliated to Bangalore University has been postponed by a week in order to facilitate valuation work. Earlier, it was scheduled to reopen on January 16. Now, it will reopen on January 23. The decision was taken at the principals’ meeting on Wednesday. Chaired by Bangalore University Vice-Chancellor Prof H A Ranganath, principals unanimously agreed to postponement of the reopening.
Seminar on freedom fighter
The Gandhi Bhavan is holding a seminar on the lifetime achievements of freedom fighter and Gandhian Yashodhara Dasappa on December 29. 
     A Gandhian, she had the distinction of being the first woman Padmabhushan awardee in 1972. She had even hoisted the tricolour at Maddur during the satyagraha.
