Dance festival
Venkatesha Natya Mandir, a 40-year old dance institute is conducting their three-day dance festival at the ADA Rangamandira from January 1 to 3. Artistes from India and abroad will perform at the festival. For details call on 26609930.
Brahmo Samaj meet
The 117th annual all India session of Brahmo Samaj is being organised by the Bangalore Centre of Brahmo Samaj from December 28 to 30 at API Bhavan, Miller Tank Bed Area, Vasanthnagar. The conference will draw about 200 delegates from 84 centres across the country and Bangladesh. A commemorative souvenir and a booklet on Brahmoism authored by noted historian Dr Sumanta Niyogi of Patna will be released on the occasion
Flower show at Lumbini
Lumbini Gardens, Bangalore's only waterfront amusement park on the picturesque Nagawara Lake has organised a biryani festival and flower show for the new year. The biriyani festival, with a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian biriyanis, has already begun and will be on till January 2, 2008. At the flower show more than 25,000 flowers are on display and the show has been designed in the shape of a butterfly. Apart from local and Dutch roses, there are gerberas, lilies, gladioli, anthuriums, chrysanthemums, birds of paradise and such others. This is in tandem with a rose garden and permanent fountain that have been created in the park.
Bengal handicraft
A exhibition of handicrafts from Bangalore is on up to December 30 on the occasion of the Bengal Festival organised by Nikhil Bharat Bangiya Sahitya Sammelan at the SEA College campus in Devasandra, Basavanapura, near K R Puram. The exhibition will remain open from 11 am to 9 pm.
