Meet on English
An international conference on English Language Teaching to young learners is being organised at Regional Institute of English, South India (RIESI) from January 3 to 6 by IATEFL specialists group in teaching English to young learners in partnership with the British Council.
The theme of the conference is, “The way forward: learning from the international experience of teaching English to young learners.”
Delegates from nearly 40 countries such as USA, UK, Canada, Turkey, Indonesia and Oman are participating to in the conference and are presenting their views in the areas of classroom pedagogy, curricular innovations, content development and reforms in testing and evaluation. Delegates from India will be presenting their experiences in the Indian sub-continent.
Jaipur limb camp
Rotary Bangalore Peenya will organise a free Jaipur limb camp for the 11th consecutive year in Bangalore from January 3 to 10, 2008 for providing artificial limbs for the amputees and callipers for those affected by polio.
Rotary Peenya President G R Vasanth Kumar said that the organisation would provide free accommodation and food for persons who would like to avail the benefit of the camp. About 3,000 persons are expected to be benefited from the camp, he added.
The camp would be held at V S Jain Sangha, Ganesh Bagh, Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain Road (Infantry Road), near Shivajinagar bus station, Bangalore.
