Lee crosses a milestone
DH News Service,Melbourne:
Playing his 62nd Test, Brett Lee brought up a mini-milestone by picking up his 250th Test victim -- Indian captain Anil Kumble -- at the MCG on Thursday.

"It is a fantastic feeling," the 31-year-old said later. "Looking back to when I was nine years of age, you probably think of playing one Test or taking one wicket. To get to the 250-club is pretty special. I was pleading and praying that Gilly had caught the ball and when he said he has, I was delighted. I am a very proud man to have got to 250 wickets." Umpires Billy Bowden and Mark Benson conferred to confirm that the ball had carried to Adam Gilchrist, though it appears now as if Kumble didn't get an edge at all!
Concurring with most other players who have voiced their opinion on the track, Lee said, "It is a low, slow wicket. It's all about patience, and about building up momentum at each end. I thought Mitchell Johnson bowled brilliantly in the morning, he just didn't have any luck at all. He could so easily have picked up two or three wickets in his first spell. Hopefully, he will get his rewards in the second innings. We were looking to bowl in partnerships."
Lee has had his fair share of injuries, and was out of the team too for a while before now establishing himself as the leader of the pack. "Sometimes, when the going is good, you think of when you were away from the national side for 18 months, or the times when you were the 12th man. It makes you appreciate the good times even more,” he said.
