The Lokayukta police on Thursday caught a KIADB official red-hand in Bangalore while accepting a bribe for an official favour.
The Lokayukta sleuths arrested M B Jayashankar, development officer, KIADB while accepting a bribe of Rs two lakh from Suresh for allotting an industrial land to him. Jayashankar had reportedly demanded Rs 10 lakh from Suresh but after negotiation, finally agreed for Rs two lakh.
Suresh had lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta. They laid a trap and caught the official red-hand.
The Lokayukta simultaneously conducted three more traps on Thursday in other districts of the State.
They caught CDPO, Kanakpura, G Ramappa while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from Chandramma for selecting her as an Anganwadi teacher. Ramappa had reportedly taken a bribe of Rs 15,000 from her earlier.
In Jagalur the Lokayukta sleuths held CDPO S B Sunandamma while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from Manjunath C R for preparing the bills for supply of ration to the Anganwadi. Sunandamma had earlier reportedly taken a bribe of Rs 3,000 from him.
In Gadag, the Lokayukta held Basavaraj Ningappa Muda Reddy, junior assistant and meter reader, Escom for accepting a bribe of Rs 500 from N S Mutti.
