Acting on a tip off, police arrested him when he was trying to cell fake CDs, a television set and VCD player on Nehru Road in JJ Nagar junction.
Commits suicide
A 38-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Cubbonpet on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as K Vasantha, a resident of Cubbonpet.
According to police, the deceased took the extreme step as she suffered from unbearable headache. She had undergone a major brain surgery five years back and suffered ache often.  Vasantha hanged herself from the ceiling of her room on Thursday night, after locking the door from inside. Her husband, Kantharau grew suspicious when did not come out of her room on Friday morning. The incident came to light after he broke open the doors.
Vasantha committed suicide barely a week before her daughter’s
wedding.
Burglaries
Three separate burglaries took place in the City on Thursday.
Thieves struck at the residence of one Prakash at Sanjaynagar, by breaking open the lock of his house. Prakash had gone to Davangere on December 23. He returned on Thursday,  to find his house burgled.
Prakash has estimated the total loss at around Rs 1.5 lakh.
The second incident took place at the SBI Staff Colony under Basaveshwara Nagar police station limits, and the third incident occurred at Gandhinagar, in Sunkadakatte police station limits.
