Lokayukta police on Friday caught a BBMP revenue inspector while he was accepting bribe for issuing a khata for a flat. Babu, revenue inspector, Kengeri sub-division, BBMP, was accepting Rs 1,500 from Kumar, a resident of Mysore, for issuing the khata for a flat allotted by the government.
He had demanded Rs 2,500 from Kumar, but agreed for Rs 1,500. Kumar lodged a complaint with Lokayukta, who laid a trap and caught the official red-handed.
In another case, Lokayukta sleuths caught Rajendra, revenue inspector, Kundana hobli in Devanahalli taluk, while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from Lakshmana of Kundana village for issuing a copy of the tahsildar’s order and enter his name in the nutation register. They also arrested Lokesha, a middleman, for accepting bribe on Rajendra’s behalf.
