It is a matter of pride to note that the disabled, who have lost all their hopes and aspirations, have decided to join the mainstream with grit and strong determination, expressed member of the Zilla Panchayat S D Krishnappa.
He was speaking at the taluk-level Samanvaya Shikshana Kalajatha programme, organised by Kamakshamma-Sajjayya Charitable Trust, Department of Public Education and Sarva Shikshana Abhiyaana, after distributing the facilities among the specially abled people there.
The disabled have made a name in the field of education, medicine and the IT sector, at the national-level. If given proper scope and encouragement, they will come up in life, he added.
Talented lot
Speaking on the occasion, Block Education Officer H C Hanumanthaiah said, the disabled are gifted with a lot of talent.
If the talent is channelised in a proper direction, they can contribute towards their development and also towards the society. Showing mere sympathy towards was not right approach, he added.
Not a burden
Education Officer of the Department of Public Education Mangala Gowramma said, the disabled were not a burden to the society.
They were not incapable also. However, it they were given the right kind of exposure to come up in life, they will definitely be a part of the mainstream, she said.
Inclusive policy
The disabled should get all the facilities from the Government.
They should also get equal opportunities to come up in life, only then can they come up in life, she added.
Chairman of Kamakshamma-Sajjayya Charitable Trust M S Shankarnarayan, member of the Zilla Panchayat Nagaratnamma G J Rajanna, Mahesh, T Dasappa, J C Manjunath, K Rajanna, scribes Chandrakant, Kumar, Bandichowdaiah and others were present on the occasion.
Various facilities were extended to the disabled persons, on the occasion, on behalf of the Kamakshamma-Sajjayya Charitable Trust.
