Party on running train this New Year eve
Jaipur, dhns:
To make the Heritage on Wheels as popular as the Palace on Wheels, Rajasthan tourism authorities have come up with a special package to lure tourists on the New Year eve.

A “chartered train” with the itinerary of the Heritage on Wheels, is scheduled to chug off on Sunday. The train would first cover Jaipur-Shekhawati and then move on to Bikaner region instead of its earlier course through Jaipur-Bikaner-Shekhawati region.

The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) had introduced the Heritage on Wheels train on meter-gauge to take tourists on a journey through the unexplored regions of Rajasthan like Shekhawati.

Nominal fares

According to RTDC Managing Director R K Saini, the New Year eve train with a capacity of 72 berths, has nine fully air-conditioned luxurious saloons, two dining pantry cars and one bar cum lounge on the lines of Palace on wheels.

The train charges nominal fares as compared to the Palace on Wheels (approximately Rs 1.50 lakh per tourist).
According to RTDC sources, Heritage on Wheels has been booked up to March and the demand is likely to increase for the next season. In addition, the RTDC has drastically reduced fares of its hotels near Delhi from December 15.

Special plans

At the RTDC hotels in Silised, Alwar special continental and American plans have been offered to woo domestic as well as overseas tourists.
