President Pratibha Patil on Saturday offered worship at Tirumala near here on Saturday, reports PTI from Tirupati.

This was Patil’s first visit to the temple after becoming President.

She was accompanied by her daughter Jothi Rathore, son Rajendra Singh and their family members. On her arrival, she was received with  temple honours amid chanting of vedic hymns by priests led by Chief priest Sri Ramana Dikshitulu who conducted the President to the sanctum sanctorum.
