“The history of Bangalore can’t be confined to libraries. It is scattered across the City, in its every nook and corner.” That’s how columnist Suresh Moona traces his passion for exhaustive research on Bangalore.
Moona, founder-director of AARAMBH (An Association for Reviving Awareness about Monuments of Bangalore Heritage), has been a columnist for various publications. On Sunday, the number of his articles on Bangalore’s history, which have appeared in Udayavani over the last seven years, will touch 1,008.
Moona said the articles had appeared — without a break — in three weekly columns under the title Bengalooru Ithihasamaale in the publication’s supplement Namma Bengalooru. He has covered Bangalore’s history through his columns on the genesis of roads in Bangalore (Sundays), prestigious institutions in Bangalore (Tuesday) and builders of Bangalore: from Kempegowda to modern-day architects (Thursday).
