Karnataka Governor Mr Rameshwar Thakur has regretted that the programmes and projects of Government had failed to achieve social justice in the society.
Inaugurating a symposium ‘Suppressed Classes for National Integration and Social Justice,’ as part of 6th Anniversary Celebrations of ‘Dalit, Hindulida and Alpasankyata Committee’ (DHAS) here on Thursday, Mr Thakur said that successive governments at the Centre and in States have been formulating projects and programmes, but the crave for social justice still continues.
Former Chief Justice of Karnataka and Kerala Justice V S Malimath said that even after independence, the exploitation of dalits and oppressed continued in India.
Former Union Minister and National Commission for Scheduled Caste Chairman Dr Buta Singh was felicitated during the occasion.
