Starry nights at star hotels!
Its all lined up for the big day on Monday night. The rush is to be at the most happening place...the new jargon to describe Gen Zs coveted destination for ultimate fun and thrill.

There are parties spread cover to cover in the City. The star hotels make sure that every detail is manicured and well taken care of, for the glitterati and well-heeled.

The Taj Group of Hotels in Bangalore have pulled out the stops. The countdown to the New Year at Mynt will be with a live band — ‘Expressions’, DJs, MCs and a dance floor in the sprawling lawns, for you to jig the night away.

The menu is a special buffet including Indian, Lebanese, Italian and Mediterranean cuisine and a premium unlimited bar menu. At their bar - ‘Blue Ginger’ one can look forward to a champagne dinner, of five courses, ending with liqueur and cognac. The Blue Bar will sport a Moulin Rouge look and the highlight of the evening will be a performance by ‘Les Belles Duval Revue’.

The Leela Palace will bring in a night of the pirates, where Jack Sparrow will serve you personally, at the Citrus — the 24-hrs brasserie at The Leela Palace. If you are looking for a New Year, the Asian style, you could chose Jamavar or Zen, with “out of the world” Indian and Pan Asian cuisine respectively.

The Windsor Sheraton and Towers has planned four elegant parties at their restaurants. Raj Pavilion, Royal Afghan, promise an impeccable classy evening. Dakshin will host a special event for a quiet togetherness of loved ones and family members with a sit down dinner. Dublin, the Irish Pub will get you into a luxurious mood with its plush ambience and the best cocktails, mocktails, snacks and abundant Irish mirth. Dum Pukht Jolly Nabobs will offer signature dishes and a melodious rendition of tabla and piano. DJ Allano from Mumbai will unleash some of the finest music. A dance floor by the poolside will offer a fine setting for people with a passion for dance.

The Park is reviving its stylish i-bar and there’s no better occasion than the New Year’s. With Ben  Birkinshaw, the well known bartender from the UK tending select international drinks, DJ Shan churning out foot-thumping music, belly dancers  performing and the finest hors-d’oeuvres  making rounds, the New Year’s party will be quite an experience. Monsoon will cast its magic, with the three-piece band playing the best of music coupled with a menu that spans coastal Indian, South East Asian and Mediterranean delicacies. Aqua will be under the stars, with the pool emptied out and fashioned into a dance floor with laser lighting, music by DJ Jatin along with Exotic International performers to set the tone for an incredible year ahead.

The Oberoi has the stage set at all the restaurants for the New Year. Le Jardin will be braced up with the finest Indian and Indian and Western cuisine. Polo Club will boast of a wide array of barbecues and grills at the alfresco bar. A special ala carte menu at the Schezwan Court and a seven-course menu at the signature Thai restaurant — Rim Naam with unlimited finest liquor and select music at all the restaurants is to make the New Year’s eve a very special event.

Hangover- Tips

While there are no cures for a hangover, here are some tips to keep in mind as suggested by Consultant, Wockhardt, Dr Srinivasa Murthy.

  • Good sleep after drinks can avoid or reduce the effect of a hangover, as the effect of alcohol lasts for eight to ten hours.
  • Cocktails give one more of a hangover than a single drink.
  • Beers and wine are safer options. If one is drinking socially, red wine is recommended as it is medically proven to be good for the heart, with no side effects.
  • Drink lots of water as it reduces dehydration
  • Eat lot of salads as it neutralises the acidity
  • Eating too much fried or junk food with drinks
increases the acidity leading to complications like vomiting
  • Myth: drinking curd neutralises the side effects of alcohol.
l  No tablet can neutralise the after-effects of alcohol.
