Beware! Cops are going to keep a close tab on what you do on New Year’s eve.

The city police will deploy its men plain clothes to monitor the celebrations inside and outside the party venues to track down drug users. “We will be coming down heavily on anyone who is seen consuming or processing drugs during the New Year parties. Partygoers are also advised not to accept the contraband or consume liquor offered by strangers and to also restrict their exchange of greetings to their friends in these parties,” said a senior police official.

Apart from pubs and  bars, the city’s drug havens located in areas such as Shivajinagar, City Market area, Mysore Road and the resorts in the outskirts of Bangalore will also be on the police radar.

The police are said to have also collected information from those who have earlier been arrested during raids on rave parties to track down incidents of drug consumption.
