Monisha on way to recovery
Monisha (5), who was strangulated by her mother before she committed suicide, showed signs of recovery on Sunday. “There is not too much to claim in Monisha’s case as she is still unconscious but her bouts of convulsion came down to three today,” said Dr Karunakara B P, Associate Professor of Paediatrics, MS Ramaiah Hospital. She may be off ventilator in a day or two, said the doctor.

Assets worth lakhs gutted
Valuables worth lakhs were gutted in the City on Sunday. A fire at Mahashakthi Roadlines Godown at Kalasipalya destroyed  sarees worth Rs 10 lakh. Firefighters doused the blaze after struggling for over two hours. The fire broke out due to short circuit, sources said.

In another incident on Siddaiah Road, a truck and two motorbikes were destroyed in a fire.

Fire brigade sources suspect a half-burnt beedi could be reason behind the fire.
