Legal awareness camp conducted for students
DH News Service, Tumkur:
A camp was held in Kalidas college recently to create legal awareness among students.

District Pre-University deputy director Ramachandra inaugurated the programme. He explained to the students the significance of  having legal knowledge.

“In today's society, illegal activities are on the rise. In such a situation legal knowledge comes handy in solving many of the problems. From student days itself one should have knowledge of basic laws and their importance,” he said.

Advocate Chandraiah gave a special lecture on laws of the land, right from road rules to laws pertaining serious crimes. He briefed students on motor vehicle act and environment protection.

Advocate Jyothilakshmi explained how dowry system is outgrowing the laws meant to  restrict it. Students, both boys and girls need to know the legal implications of dowry system.

College principal C Yathiraju presided over the function. Lecturer C D Shivakumarswamy welcomed the gathering. M Narayana conveyed vote of thanks.
