As many as four persons were killed in three separate mishaps in Sullia police station limits on Sunday. According to police, a mobike rider and pillion rider were killed on the spot in a mobike, van collision. The deceased have been identified as Markanja Dinesh Kuthkuli (31) and Suresh Chembu (30). In another incident, a pedestrian was killed when a tractor ran over him at Menala in Ajjavara village. The deceased has been identified as Abdul Kunji (55).

In another mishap, a lorry driver Chinnappa Gowda (53) was killed in a KSRTC bus-lorry collision at Sullia.

Police arrested three persons in connection with the murder of Abdul Basheer.

According to police, the arrested are Zarina, Pravin Kulal and Divakar Poojary. It may be recalled that Abdul Basheer was killed with a sharp weapon while he along with his uncle were having tea in a tea-shop at Someshwar near Hebri.

During the interrogation, the accused Pravin Kulal and Divakar Poojary revealed that Zarina, Prakash Shetty and Ravi Poojary hatched a plot to kill Basheer. Police seized mobile, sim card, weapons and mobike. However, Prakash Shetty and Ravi Poojary are absconding.
