'Co-op unions progress when members work in harmony'

Co-operative unions can achieve progress only when all intellectual and vigilant members and honest officials work in harmony and co-ordination, said District Central Co-operative Bank Manager B Manjunath Naik.

Speaking after inaugurating the the daylong training programme organised for all Sauharda Sahakari Sangha presidents, directors and CEOs at Koppa Pai Complex premises on Thursday, he lamented that due to lack of co-ordination and political backing, the co-operative field has been suffering setbacks. Efficient members alone can elect an efficient administrative board. The right decisions taken by the administrative board must be effectively implemented by the officials. For this, co-ordination among all officials and members becomes inevitable, he explained.

Samyukta Sauharda Sahakara Sangha district director S N Vishwanath said the confusion relating to education fund in the Sauharda Sahakara associations must be resolved.

District Sahakara Union director Y S Subrahmanya, speaking introductorily said a workshop has been organised for the office-bearers and directors of eight Sauharda Sahakara Sangha wherein information will be provided on daily administration issues, difference between Sauharda Sahakara institutes and other co-operative institutes and rules relating to Sauharda Sahakara institutes. District Co-operative Union President M Parameshwarappa presided. Sahakara Union Assistant Manager B R Krishnamurthy provided training on administration, while Sangha Assistant Director K Mayannagowda trained  on account management.
