Development programme
Kolar, DHNS:

 D Devaraju Urs Backward Class Welfare Board as called applications form the candidates belonging to Uppara community form Kolar as well as Chikkaballapura districts for the development programmes undertaken for the overall development of the community. The candidates will be given training in Naturopathy, Food Processing, Apparel and Design, Beautician course, Mobile repair, DTP and Tally Accountant Package.  Candidates will also be given loan and grant under self employment scheme, assistance will also be given for farmers and Ganga Kalyana irrigation scheme.Loans will also be dispersed through cooperative societies and NGOs.

 An annual interest of 4 to 6 per cent is levied on all the loans. Interested candidates can contact D Devaraju Urs Backward Class Welfare Board, Zilla panchayat premises, Kolar for additional information. The filled in applications must be submitted on or before January 5.

Student gets first place
Kolar, DHNS:  M Manjunath from the Panasahchowdanahalli  government senior primary school got the first place in the 1500 meter free style swimming competition in the State level Government employees sports meet held at Dharwad.

He also stood first in the 400 meter freestyle and the 100 meter breast stroke events and has therefore been selected for the national level championship.

These victories continue the winning spree that began for form the masters’ Championship  where he won numerous silver and gold medals.

This  was announced by the Chinatamani Taluk Block Education officer.
