Bowling trio of Shimon Luiz, G Pawan and Abhishek Reddy picked three wickets apiece as Karnataka steamrolled Tamil Nadu by an innings and 48 runs in the KSCA inter-state south zone under-13 tournament at the IAF ground on Sunday.
On the third and final day, Tamil Nadu, resuming from their overnight 66/3, were bowled out for 226 as Luiz (3-43) took his match tally to eight wickets and was complemented well by Pawan (3-21) and Reddy (3-47).
M Adithyan stood tall among the ruins with a patient ton (101) studded with 14 hits to the fence, while N Jagadeesh (51) too fought hard to lend some respectability to visitors’ second innings total.
In another match, Surendra Babu scored an unltra-aggressive 68 off just 44 balls as Andhra earned a creditable draw against arch-rivals Hyderabad.
