The ideas put forth by Kalidasa in his works is contemporary even to this day, said Dr Prasad, chief of the dept of Micro biology of Devaraj Urs medical college.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Kalidasana Kavyothana organised by Vedavyasa Veda Samskrutha Patashale of Kolar and Kolar Samskrutha Sangha. Kalidasa’s works reflect the culture of our country. Even Kuvempu derived his inspiration from his works. Installation of kalidasa’s statue in Russia is a sign of his popularity, he said.
He expressed his displeasure over exclusion of Kalidasa’s sanskrit sentences. Prof M N Chandrashekhar who spoke on Raghuvamsha, said that Kalidasa’ s idea of single Universal God and to maintain cordial relation with all religions, castes and in language is still relevant. Prof Venkateshappa, Dr Krishna Moorthy were present.
