A silent protest march will be held from Town Hall on Wednesday, said G S Somashekhar of the Citizens’ Forum.

Various organisations have extended their support to the bundh call given by the committee. Most of the private colleges have announced holiday supporting the bundh call.  The co-ordination committee meeting of the Tumkur District Commerce and Industry Institute Commercial Tax officers has also been postponed due to the bundh, said a press release.

Sharana Sahitya Parishat district unit President Dr D N Yogish said that Kumaraswamy would not be unaware of the fact that seers of any community would criticise his misdeeds when they cross the level of tolerance.

“It’s not Kumaraswamy but the seer of the Siddagnanga mutt who had followed the principles of secularism in true spirit through his ‘trividha dasoha’ programme”, he said demanding that Kumaraswamy apologise in public for his remarks on the seer. He said, the Parishat will also support the protest on Wednesday.
