Battling Pakistan save Test
Chasing 345 to win from 81 overs was not going to be an easy task on a fifth day pitch against an Indian attack that contained more than one threat. But Pakistan showed admirable fortitude to earn a draw.
Skipper praises bowlers
After drawing the second Test against Pakistan, Indian skipper Anil Kumble said here on Tuesday that the team's catching needed to improve, as on docile pitches even half chances matter.
We showed character, says Lawson
Pakistan coach Geoff Lawson said his team had shown a lot of character in the second Test against India at the Eden Gardens and that would stand them in good stead in the third Test in Bangalore, starting on Saturday.
Bhajji needs to be patient
India may be hurt at not being able to force a win in the second Test, but they have no reason to worry. After all, Pakistan were on the defensive right up to the last session of the match.

    Taslima's dilemma
Was the West Bengal government right in nudging controversial Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen into leaving Kolkata? Should the Centre extend political asylum or Indian citizenship to her as she says she can’t go back to Dhaka?

Deccan Herald had invited its readers to send their opinions. Most readers opine that persuading Taslima Nasreen to leave the state was an extreme move and that granting asylum is humane although extending citizenship to her is debatable. A few others insist that she must now return home to Dhaka as her views have hurt the sentiments of Muslims.
