Hiremutt seer condemns political

Politics should never interfere in religion, said Shivakumar Shivacharya swami of Hiremutt in Kunigal. However, there should be a set of rules which has to be followed by every politician, he added.

He was addressing the silent protest led by various Veerashaiva associations, Admirers’ association of Sri Siddaganga Seer, Akkana Balaga and Seers of various Mutts in front of the Tahsildar office to condemn the alleged remarks of former Chief Minister against Dr Shivakumara Swami.

They demanded that the former CM has to tender an apology to the seer.

Chandrashekhar Shivacharya swami of Bellimutt, said that it is an insult to the the ‘Trividha Dasohi’, who is called by his devotees as ‘Living God on earth’.

He has also said that the remark made by former CM is a sign of political immaturity in him.

Ankanahalli Mutt’s Shivarudra Shivacharya swami, Hebbur Ramanahalli Mutt’s Shivarudra Panchacharya, Hosakere Tripuranthakeshwara Mutt’s Sadashivacharya Swami, Nityananda, Vani Sudheer and others spoke.

Various organisations who gathered at the Ataveeshwara Swami temple at 11 am, took a silent procession till the taluk office and later submitted a memorandum to Tahsildar B Shivaswami.

Taluk Veerashaiva Samaj President Prakash, Secretary Chandrashekhar, Chandrappa, Youth Forum President Vasanth Kumar, Babu, Bhavani of Akkanabalaga, Sindhuja, Siddagangamma, Kuvempu Youth Forum’s Ravikumar, leaders Huche Gowda and others were present.
