The decision was taken by a four-member sub-committee of the BU Syndicate.
The study centres whose recognition has been withdrawn include: SCS Institute of Higher Education, N R Road; Bhuvaneshwari Correspondence College, Thulasithotam; Sri Janaki Education Foundation, Jayanagar; Miranda Education Society, Indiranagar; Renuka College of Business Management, Bangalore North taluk; Bangalore College and Research Institute, Gokula, Mathikere; Gnanaganga English School, Yelahanka Educational Association Compound; Manasa Educational Trust, Sampige Road; Gauthama Buddha Education Trust, Chamarajpet; SISA Social Welfare Services, Whitefield; Oceanic Education Society, Malleswaram; JB Social, Economic and Educational Welfare Trust, Bangarpet circle, Kolar; Hameed Sultan Education Society, Double Road, Mandya.
The university has warned students not to enroll themselves at these study centres.
According to a release, seven more study centres are on the hit list and a final decision regarding their fate would be taken after spot inspection by the sub-committee.
Meanwhile, students who have already enrolled themselves should pay the fees for second and third year directly to the distance education directorate.
The last date to pay the fees without fine is December 31 and with fine of Rs 100 is January 15, said the release.
