Popular Front of India (PFI) will organise a political awareness campaign, covering all the districts of the State from February 8 to 22. The campaign is named as ‘for a new Karnataka: People’s march.’
Addressing a press meet here on Saturday, Campaign Organising Committee Member Anwar Sadath said the programme consists of three caravans of vehicles starting from Sirsi, Bidar and Chikmagalur and concluding with a grand public meeting in Bangalore on February 22.
The caravan which will start from Bidar will pass through Gulbarga, Raichur, Bijapur, Bagalkot, Belgaum, Hubli and Bangalore.
The caravan which starts from Chikmagalur would move via Shimoga-Davangere-Haveri-Bellary-Chitradurga-Tumkur-Chikaballapura-Kolar-Bnagalore. Another caravan which will commence from Sirsi will pass through Bhatkal-Kundapur-Udupi-Mangalore-Ullal-B C Road-Kalladka-Puttur-Sullia-Madikeri-Sakleshpura-Hassan-Mysore-Mandya-Ramnagara-Bangalore.
The caravan from DK will start on February 11 with a public meeting at Surathkal kendra maidan from 11 am to 1 pm. The public programme will be presided over by Popular Front of India’s A M M Shafi. A public meeting will be held at Ullal at 7 pm. Mr Sadath said the campaign aims at creating a political atmosphere conducive for the realisation of real representative democracy in Karnataka. The Caravan will reach Udupi on February 10.
