The Janapara Vedike has strongly opposed the district administration’s proposal to shut down the routes at Car Street for vehicular movement. In a press release issued on Saturday, the Vedike demanded that the temple administration should come up with security plans in consultation with district administration. The Vedike also accused the temple administration of illegally acquiring the land in the name of banning the plying of the vehicles at Car Street and added that it is unscientific to insert gates at Thenkapate-Carstreet-Badagupete stretch which is part of Kollur- Kukke Subrahmanya National Highway.
