'Mediation counselling centres at courts to solve disputes'

Mediation counselling centres have been started at courts in order to solve the disputes easily and quickly, said Additional District and Sessions Judge V M Aradhya.

Speaking on the Civil Process Act during a workshop on method of solving disputes organised for advocates, court personnel and clients at the district court here on Friday, he said such centres would stop waste of time in solving the cases apart from reducing the number of cases in law courts.

The centres allow both the parties of the dispute to sort out their differences with less expenditure also.

Advocates and organisations having over 15 years of experience and who have worked for various fields in the society can function these centres.

Committees are being formed in all district courts comprising the judges in this connection, he informed.

Additional Public Prosecutor Ashok Nayak, District and Sessions Judge Prakash Bellari, Bar Association President Krishnamurthy spoke. 

Advocates K C Ramakrishnaiah, H B Ravindranath,  Savithri Bhat, Bar Association Secretary Mahesh Kumar were present. The workshop had been organised by Legal Services Authority, Bar Association and Information Department.
