More funds sought

Bangalore: The Congress on Saturday urged the Governor to allocate adequate funds for improving infrastructure in Bangalore in the 2008-09 State budget, and withdraw the BBMP’s revised building license fee. In a memorandum, the Bangalore Mahanagara Congress Committee has complained that the BBMP has been levying exorbitant building licence fee, which has become a burden on the people, and that there is a resentment among citizens. KPCC President Mallikarjun Kharge, and former city Congress MLAs, submitted the memorandum to Governor.
