'Unlock Hosapattan yuvaka sangha'
DH News Service, Kushalnagar:

Zilla Panchayat former member R K Chandru and Nanjarayapattan gram panchayat President Bharathi Yadav have urged the taluk panchayat to take immediate measures to vacate the lock sealed on the newly built yuvaka sangha at Hosapattan village.

Addressing press persons here, they said though the samudaya bhavan belonged to gram panchayat, former president of the GP A M Lokanath had locked the bhavan with political intentions, claiming that the land belonged to the yuvaka sangha. The samudaya bhavan has been built with Rs 7 lakh grant from the zilla panchayat and Rs 3 lakh fund pooled from local sources for the advantage of the villagers. Similarly, a continuing education centre has been opened under the aegis of Sakshara Kaveri Samiti at the bhavan. When Mr Lokanath was the GP president, the affairs of the bhavan were looked after by the panchayat itself.

But when he stepped down from his post, he started politicising the issue, Mr Chandru said.

A complaint has been filed with Kushalnagar police in this connection, he added.

Ms Bharathi Yadav said the Somwarpet TP executive officer Nagaraj had visited the spot and assured of finding a solution to the problem by sealing another lock to the community hall.

Mr Chandru and GP vice-president K V Premananda cautioned that unless the problem was solved within the next 10 days, they would stage a protest in front of the taluk panchayat.   Hobli Nagarika Hitarakshana Vedike President A S Bopanna, Mr M N Harish Yadav were present in the press meet.
