Atom Stations In The Offing
New Delhi, Feb. 10.
President Prasad in an address to a joint session of both Houses of Parliament said here today that the Government of India had under consideration the construction of one or more atomic power stations during the current Five-Year Plan period.
Economic affairs dominated the President’s Address, which customarily marks the beginning of the Budget Session.
Chou Backs Move For Summit Meet
Hong Kong, Feb. 10.
Mr Chu En-Lai, Prime Minister of China, declared today that “the conditions for securing a lasting world peace have never been more favourable.”
He was making a policy speech on the international situation at a meeting of the National People’s Congress – China’s Parliament.

Root Out Corruption: Hegde

Bangalore, Feb. 10.
Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde told top government officials here today not to give room for corruption and nepotism but to develop a cordial relation with the public.
Inordinate delay in getting the work of the common man done at the taluk and district levels brought disrepute to the Government, he said.
He was addressing the conference of the Secretaries, heads of the Departments, divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners.
