A rasta roko was staged by the BJP activists under the leadership of B Suresh Gowda at Huchchamasti circle in the city, condemning the alleged atrocities committed against the BJP workers at their meet on Sunday at Madikehalli.

The Congress party workers who are disheartened at the consolidation of power by the BJP at the Madikehalli gram panchayat  have committed atrocities against the BJP workers.

Disaster averted

Also, the Congress workers stopped the vehicle of parliamentarian S Mallikarjunaiah and hurled abuses at him and even tried to assault him. However, the police arrived at the right time and averted the incident.

Former Congress legislators should initiate disciplinary action against their party workers, cautioned Mr Suresh Gowda.

A complaint has been lodged at the Madikehalli police station. If the accused are not arrested then the BJP would call for a bundh, he said.

However, the Congress leaders Gangadhar, Suresh, Gangarangaiah and others of Madikehalli at a press conference completely denied the allegations levied by the BJP against their party workers.
