'Utilise govt grants'

“The government grant is supposed to be utilised by the end of the March but officials have not paid any attention towards this. To the contrary the already undertaken works have also been neglected by the officials”, alleged Education and Health (Standing) Committee president J Krishna Singh.

He was speaking at the KDP meeting held here on Monday. Taking officials  to the task he said the non-utilisation of th funds by the officials has angered many people’s representatives.

He urged the officials to name those representatives who had objected to the utilisation of the funds.

Expressing his dissatisfaction over the construction work of school building he said officials should devout their time towars this.

ZP president A C Nagaratna who presided over the meet said the funds should not to return to the government unutilised rather the respective departments should utilise the funds.

Briefing the meeting about the works officials said that four developmental works have been completed in Kolar. The works are in progress in Shapura, Madanahalli, Cyalnuru and Madderi villages.

Six projects have been approved  in Bangarpet taluk, noted officials who said that construction works on four schools of five schools approved in Malur has began.

Two projects have been completed in Mulbagal of the total 6 projects, expressed officials who said that all the works will be completed by getting approval to the Action plan.

DDPI’s Nagaraj said that 2.38 has been released to all the taluk from Rs 12.5 released by the Department of Public Instruction for the repair of schools in the district.

Answering the queries made by Krishna Singh and others he said that amount will be released to the Block Education officer or Assistant Executive Engineer of the respective places.
